Manuel (Manny Sr.) RomeroVargas
Manuel RomeroVargas Gomez de Parada (“Manny”) was born in Mexico City in 1941. As a child he was fascinated with cars and became interested in automotive mechanics. In 1959, while working at an inflight catering business “Casa Ponce de Leon” owned by his uncle Fernando Gomez de Parada. Manny developed a passion for aviation.
During this time, Manny began to represent Universal Airlines, ONA, Charter Standard Airways and also coordinated and supervised ground support services to charter and cargo companies such as Air Lift International and Zantop. John Vaughan, General Manager of British Airways Mexico appointed Manny as Station Manager in Mexico City responsible for traffic and BA flight operations from London Heathrow to the International Mexico City Airport. These operations included Super VC-10s and Boeing 707-320s.
When working for British Airways, Manny met Tom G. Evans, founder and president of Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. Mr. Evans recognized the potential business and corporate aviation market in Mexico and invited Manny to represent his company in this city. Together, Tom and Manny founded Universal Aviation Services Company (UASCO). After a period of restructuring, Manny founded Manny Aviation Services (Manny Aero) in December 1997. Manny put his philosophy into practice providing exceptional services and attention to even the smallest of details. His philosophy paid off.
In 2012, after celebrating fifteen years of Manny Aviation Services, he received numerous well deserved accolades including Professional Pilot magazine PRASE awards for as the “Best FBO in Mexico” (2002, 2004); “Best ground handling company in Mexico” (2005, 2006, 2007): “Best FBO Mexican Handler (2011, 2012, 2013).

Manny dedicated his life to serving others and with over fifty years of experience in the aviation industry, his company has assisted some of the world’s leading companies, Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royals from around the world.
At the peak of career, sadly Manny passed away on December 23rd, 2014 at 73 years young.
